内容简介： This workshop will showcase three signature pedagogies at QUT: team-based learning, student-centred teaching and cognitive apprenticeship. Led by academics from the QUT Academy of Learning and Teaching it will demonstrate how high-impact pedagogies can be used to engage learners across discipline areas.

QUT Academy of Learning and Teaching Presenter Biographies
Professor Abby Cathcartis the Director of theQUTAcademy of Learning and Teachingin Australia. Abby is a Principal Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and Advance HE’s Global Strategic Advisor (Australasia). She has worked with staff at institutions in China, Australia and Thailand in designing and leading professional development programs as pathways to HEA fellowship. Abby was awarded the QUT David Gardiner Teacher of the Year in 2015 for her leadership in learning and teaching in QUT Business School and is the recipient of three national Australian Awards for University Teaching. She co-designed and leads the Teaching Advantage Program for doctoral candidates at QUT, which won a QS Wharton Reimagine Education Employability Award in 2019.
Dr Sarah Dartis a lecturer in QUT’s Academy of Learning and Teaching with a background in engineering and mathematics. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her research interests are in STEM education, blended learning (especially using supplementary video resources), and learning analytics. Sarah won an Australian Award for University Teaching Citation in 2019.
Dr Lauren Woodlandsis a lecturer in the QUT Academy of Learning and Teaching. She has over 12 years’ experience in learning and teaching roles in higher education including teaching into Creative Industries undergraduate and postgraduate courses and managing an integrated Support for Learning team in the Faculty of Education. Lauren is interested in building capacity for learning and teaching staff. She is a Senior Fellow and an Associate Fellow (Indigenous) of the Higher Education Academy.
Dr Polly Laiis a Lecturer in the QUT Academy of Learning and Teaching. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Polly’s research interests include increasing student learning engagement by using collaborative learning, Team-Based Learning and Productive Failure learning approaches to help university students learn challenging concepts.
